     Pyeongchang, South Korea to Host 2018 Winter Olympic Games Pyeongchang, South Korea may have lost out to Vancouver, Canada and Sochi, Russia in previous Olympic bids, but in 2018 the Asian city will host the Winter Olympics. The International Olympics Committee (IOC) today cast a secret vote and Pyeongchang easily scooped up the majority, winning the bid in the first round. 2018 will be the first time South Korea has hosted the Winter Games.  More info here.
